MECHANICAL SHIFT-UP TUBING RELEASE

The LRI Mechanical Shift-up Tubing Release allows the operator to drop the tubing-conveyed perforating assembly to the cellar below the producing formation. This allows the tubing above the release to be used for production and leaves a re-entry guide for any future re-work. The release is operated by engaging an Otis-B type shifting tool (with positive keys) below the latch and jarring upward to shift the latch and release the perforating string.
The LRI Mechanical Shift-up Tubing Release is unique in the market in that the fingers of the lower sleeve are pre-loaded in the release position. This minimizes the weight of perforating string necessary to disengage the tool.
Features:
- This tool incorporates a backup ring to remove slack from the assembly. This helps prevent accidental release caused by the firing of the guns below.
- Incorporates a Teflon seal ring in the female EUE threads to improve seal reliability.
- The pre-loaded fingers are machined at an angle that minimizes the force that they apply to the latch. This maximizes the weight that can be dropped.
