MECHANICAL SHIFT DOWN TUBING RELEASE
Product Series: TCP MR 3000 ***
The LRI Mechanical Shift-down Tubing Release allows the operator to drop the tubing-conveyed perforating assembly to the cellar below the producing formation. This allows the tubing above the release to be used for production and leaves a tapered re-entry guide for any future re-work. The release is operated by engaging an Otis-B type shifting tool (with positive or selective keys) in the latch and jarring downward to shift the latch and release the perforating string. The latch remains captive in the lower assembly, leaving no restriction in the production string.
The design of the LRI Mechanical Shift-down Tubing Release incorporates features to help prevent the accidental actuation of the latch by logging tools, or any other tool that must pass through the release before it’s intended release. However LRI does not recommend using this tool in a string with a drop bar actuated firing head.
Features:
- Full bore after operation. No latch left behind in the production string.
- Shifting tool does not need to “shear out” to perform release operation.
- The tool incorporates a feature that allows torque to be transmitted through the tool. This can be helpful when well restrictions are encountered.
- Incorporates a Teflon seal ring in the female EUE threads to improve seal reliability.
