LRI Perforating Systems Inc. offers a safe and reliable mechanical firing head for TCP applications. The firing head is activated by the impact of a drop bar on a firing pin; the drop bar strikes the firing pin, shearing a safety retaining washer and driving the pin downward to contact a percussion initiator (recommended, Pacific Scientific). The resultant detonation is transferred through the top sub to the gun system.

The LRI firing pin is hydraulically balanced and debris-friendly. Further, it incorporates a number of advanced features designed to improve reliability, and increase safety.

Features:

• Allows safe operation with integrated no-go and firing pin safety retention washer. Additional no-go is available for placement above firing head (recommended).
• Internal pin retention system; use of shear ring eliminates leak path caused by externally installed shear pin.
• Only firing head available that incorporates additional safety ring to prevent accidental surface detonation.
• Maintains differential pressure of 20 000 psi across initiator even after detonation.
• Initiator housing locked in place at wellsite using the exclusive LRI safety spanner.
• Hydraulically balanced firing pin prevents accidental detonation due to hydrostatic pressure.
• Debris-friendly design ensures detonation even in the presence of debris at the head.
