HIGH BYPASS INSERT STYLE NO-GO
Product Series: TCP NG 1001 287
Used in the collar between tubing joints above the mechanical firing head, the LRI High Bypass No-Go Insert provides two additional benefits, over and above those offered by the solid no-go insert. As does the solid insert, the high bypass insert will ensure that wireline logging tools are not able to inadvertently contact the firing pin and initiate gun detonation. The inside diameter of 40 mm (1.575”) prevents anything larger from passing through.
In addition to preventing inadvertent contact, this unique model ensures minimal velocity reduction of the drop bar as it passes through the insert, as the ports provide additional flow channels for fluid displaced by the bar as it travels downward.
After guns fire, the ports provide greater flow area for production in cases where the insert is contained within the permanent production tubing string.
Similarly to the solid model, this insert is simply placed inside the coupling between the lower and upper tubing joints. The symmetrical design allows operators to place either end up. This design is much stronger than competitive designs, preventing the no-go from potentially breaking away due to the impact from a dropped object.
